This was created with reaktor 6, nested inside vcvrack (via the "host" module) run through various effects in vcv rack. Ultimately this was rendered out at 192khz (vcv allows for very high super sampling). Many frequencies that are above the range of hearing exist in this file due to rendering it at such a high sample rate. I recommend that, in your daw of choice: pitch this down a couple octaves while running this through a frequency analyzer. Watch how many notes and tones emerge into the range of hearing. You might need a high shelf eq on this as well as a slight high pass filter. Several use cases for this sound: in the background of a sci-fi video game. On your next ambient dark drone top 40 hit single. Run through effects like granulators, pitch shifters and spectral distortions to make a crazy sound design sculpture.

Sound of balinese chimes recorded with tascam dr-60 d mkii linear recorder and pair of akg p120 electret condenser microphones on a stagg smc3 3m xlr cable. Knobs of sensitivity were turned in position of highest sensitivity. Microphones were configured as stereo pair and placed face to face in front of each other in distance of 75cm. Microphones placed on stands. Chimes was held in the hand between mics along the way of sight of them, with smallest bell on the side of right microphone. Recorded afternoon in a bedroom with closed door and windows in a house next to high street. Recorded in 96khz and 24bit. Trimmed and normalized in flstudio edison. Normalization made sample 32bit.

A sputtery drum beat. The bass is from freesound, the snare is from a small chop of my fist hitting an oil drum, and the small breath that acts as percussion is from a children's toy. A request for freesounder neilreynolds1980, intended as a soundtrack for the play dr faustus at the point the eponymous character is sucked into hell. A bit of technical information: the basic sound is a stacked set of ‘devil’s intervals’ (augmented fourths) with doubling at the octave, playing an instance of calf organ set to a truly horrifying demonic choir patch i created. The rest of the effects are accomplished using automation of this instrument as well as calf pulsator and calf filter in ardour. This sounds much better when downloaded than it does in the freesound player. The stereo image and sample rate are much reduced in the version you hear in the player.

I picked up a home-grade reel to reel machine at a thrift store and and this is the tape which was in it. A father sends messages from home to his son in the u. S. Navy during the vietnam war, including fatherly advice about cars and shopping overseas and anxiously awaiting his sons return. He provides sample fodder at 14:19 about musical gear lust and otherwise provides an insight to the times. With this module you can cv control the attack and decay. As oscillator i use intellijel μvcf in self-oscillation mode. I fm-modulate this filter/oscillator with a tone from uoki-toki polivoks vcf. The semi random trigger is really two triggers connected to an or gate. Pitch is from analogue systems rs-40 (sample/hold and noise). I can listen to this for a looong time. Retro sound.

I'm trying to create a sound that resembles captain america's shield from the marvel movies. I took a recording of a metal garbage can ringing and brought it into iris 2. I cut the attack from the envelope and added light amplitude sine wave modulation. I also set a short decay. I also layered a clean sine wave underneath the recording sample in order to give the recording more umph and body when it resonates. This is the base of captain america's shield. A nice wet-themed ambiance of early spring in a small midwestern town in the us. The spring peepers dominate, always in the background. The american toads trill off and on (:38----1:04, 2:09-----2:31, 5:50----6:07, 6:25----6:40)there is also a distant dog bark, with echo at 3:31. Distant car horn at 3:57. Since this was recorded on a busy weeknight at 7pm, a lot of distant car doors and people picking up and dropping off kiddos for basketball practice, choir practice and other ancient extracurricular activities. There is a particularly good door open and slam and muted conversations at 6:43 to 6:56 and again at 7:17stereo recording made on thursday night march 29th, 2018 using a sound devices 702 and an audiotechnica bp4025 stereo microphone. The original was recorded at the very high sample rate of 196hz. Enjoy a town winding down and internalizing on a cold, drippy wet night in either very late winter, or very early spring.
